Why Chia is your skin’s best friend this winter…

Founder of Kiss Ready Lips and Chia whizz-kid, Louella Docot tells us all about why you need to be including Chia enriched products in your skincare routine this winter…

You’ve been sprinkling Chia Seeds on everything from your cereal to soup because you have heard it’s good for you. But did you know it is amazing to use on the lips and skin too?

For the same reason why it’s nutritionally beneficial to eat everyday, Chia is rich in fatty oils called Omega 3 ALA and Omega 6 LA. When applied topically, these oils provide nourishment and protection by hydrating and then sealing in the moisture on the epidermal layer of the skin.

A group of researchers from a leading Korean university looked into the effectiveness of Chia Oil when used topically by individuals with severe skin dryness and itching. After regular application, they observed that the skin became more hydrated. They found the oils provided protective barrier to the skin, improving appearance and making it more healthy.

If you’re thinking of grabbing a handful and scrubbing it directly on your skin for its hydrating properties, there’s a more effective and efficient way of doing it.  (Though this can be fun too. Have you seen Chia seeds expand when soaked in water?)

There are Chia-enriched products that are available in the market now. Kiss Ready products are one of them. Kiss Ready lip balm and skin oil are made with cold-pressed Chia Oil and blended with carefully selected essential oils.  These products do not contain chemicals or any artificial ingredients and have not been tested on animals.

So if you’re looking for that go-to product to nourish your skin and lips this winter, try our natural Chia-enriched Kiss Ready products here.

I would so so so much love to try this please! I am still (after many years) been trying to find a remedy for my insanely dry, flaky, super sore skin all over my torso. Escecilly my back! Doctors haven’t been able to fix it with any cream. So I have tried to make my own organic lotions..which still haven’t worked. It gets so bad in winter I am more than ever eager to find a cure! Or at least help a little!! After reading that article I got excited, in hope something might actually work. Would be so amazing to try it for free as in am sick of spending money on products for it that don’t end up working. Thanks so much for even reading my annoying problem as a comment..

  21. Isabelle says:

Hello, this would be a real treat to win! would love to try for my mother, she has many inherited skin problems with her fairness and has dryness because of it. Have resorted to just coconut oil but this sounds like it could really help! Many thanks – Anne
