Colloidal oatmeal has been used as a natural bath soak for hundreds of years to soothe dry, itchy, irritated skin caused by conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, chicken pox, bug bites and nappy rash.
When used in a bath soak, the natural oat proteins leave a barrier on the skin that helps prevent water loss and retains moisture to the skin. A colloidal oat bath soak soothes itchiness by bringing the pH level of itchy skin back to normal.
Directions:
- Add 2 heaped tablespoons of Frankie Apothecary Colloidal Oat Soak to a partially filled bath of luke warm water. Soak for 10 minutes (prolonged soaking could further dry out your skin)
- Pat skin dry
- For itchy skin, apply Kawakawa Balm within three minutes to lock in moisture
- For normal skin or as a baby oil, you may prefer Kawakawa Body Oil for a lighter moisturising layer
