There are no harsh ‘stripping’ surfactants (foaming agents) which just create more oil, nor is there any silicone.
We use Rosemary, Juniper, Basil, Lime, Lemon and Orange extracts and oils to balance oil production, clean the scalp and freshen your hair up. Leaves your hair perfect without the need for a conditioner as there are humectants in there which draw moisture to your hair, without the oil. Perfect!

Our most clarifying shampoo works a treat on oily scalps, and is the perfect post-swim shampoo to help gently remove oils, chlorine, and styling products from hair for fresh, bouncy tresses.
Zingy lime and orange essential oils refresh the hair and scalp as gentle surfactants cleanse without stripping them of moisture. Castor oil is remarkable at dissolving oils and sebum, making it a wonderful addition to help remove stubborn residue from hair.
St Clements restores shine fantastically on its own thanks to humectants such as glycerine, which draws moisture to hair without any heavy oils. Use it on its own, or pair it with a lightweight conditioner such as Wonderbar for weightlessly nourished locks.

Ingredients:
Sodium cocoyl isethionate, sodium coco-sulfate, stearic acid, disodium laureth sulfosuccinate, stearic acid, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) butter, Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, vegetable glycerine, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, behentrimonium methosulfate, Citrus aurantifolia (lime), Citrus sinensis (sweet orange) essential oils, mica, lactic acid, citral,* limonene,* linalool.* *Occurs naturally in essential oils. All ingredients are palm free.
Directions:
Wet the bar and your hair. Swipe the bar several times down your hair from root to tip. Put the bar down and lather shampoo into hair- it will foam! Rinse.

I used to wash my hair daily, as it was just about always starting to feel oily within 24 hours. I’m now down to less than once a week and I can’t believe it. I think it’s because this shampoo doesn’t strip away my hair’s natural oils, which was causing it to produce more oil and so I’d wash it more often; a vicious cycle. The smell of this shampoo is subtle but it stays. And the bar lasts AGES. Heaps longer if you use the in-shower container; wish I knew this a few bars earlier into my ethique obsession.

Like all of the other reviews say, this is the bomb! I wish I hadn’t put off trying solid bar shampoos for so long but now I’m converted! I usually have to wash my hair every day but with this I can get away with 2 days which is saying a lot!

I love this shampoo! This has been the first shampoo bar I’ve ever tried and I don’t think I’ll have to try any others! I have thick, oily, curly hair and this shampoo works amazing. I used to wash my hair almost every day and now I can go 2-3 days without washing now. I find that it gets rid of my oils at my roots and doesn’t dry out my ends, it leaves my hair soft, shiny, smelling good, and really accentuates my naturally curly hair. Love this stuff!!!!!!!!!

Okay, let me tell you a little story about a girl. A girl who has spent time and money and brainpower trying to find the best natural shampoo in the biz! But, Alas, all the good ones cost an arm and a leg and a wallet and I had been reduced to becoming an amateur chemist myself in the hope of concocting something worthy of my hair, my wallet and my mother (who has a severe allergy to perfumes) ‘and then she walked in’ St Clements. at first i was put off by the price but once I was told it does the job of three bottles of shampoo, i was hooked and LET. ME. TELL. YOU. My hair is soft and clean and shiny (so, so shiny) and I’m nothing short of emitting rainbows and fluffy kittens right now. And you really don’t need to use a lot before it suds up into a glorious citrusy pillow. I am never going back and the wedding is next week. I’d give it all the stars in the sky if the site would let me.
