Why Mellow? Because bicarb soda is a fantabulous natural deodoriser BUT it can upset some people. Even though Woohoo have carefully adjusted the pH of their deodorants to minimise the chance of irritation, there are some incredibly sensitive souls who can’t even tolerate the tiniest amount.
So they set themselves a challenge – to create a deodorant that could bust odour even BETTER than Woohoo Urban and Woohoo Wild, but without bicarb. The mission was accepted with gusto by their very talented formulator (none other than Aaron!) and it turns out that this was probably his toughest challenge yet. But guess what? He triumphed.
Woohoo Mellow has the smoothest of textures, applies like an absolute dream, and busts body odour like you wouldn’t believe. Even without essential oils.
Mellow’s new superstar ingredients are absolute crackers!
Magnesium Hydroxide (also goes by ‘milk of magnesia’) – You guessed it – the same stuff used to stop indigestion and heartburn. Who would have thought it also works an absolute treat at neutralising BO.
Activated Charcoal – What can’t it do these days? Well, you can add another string to its bow because it not only works at keeping you dry it also adsorbs odour. Double thumbs up.
Olive Leaf Extract – One of nature’s most powerful antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant plants. Smelly, sweat-munching bacteria are no match for this gift from mother nature. It boosts Mellow’s BO preventing power so a masking fragrance is not required.
These superstars join the much loved old gang of Kaolin clay, zinc and Tapioca starch to make Woohoo Mellow a worthy addition to the Woohoo family.
Where oh where are the essential oils?
NOWHERE 🙂 When they said we set themselves a challenge they weren’t kidding. In most natural deodorants essential oils play a pretty big role in helping stop body odour but they managed to create this incredibly effective deodorant without them.
If you know us at all, you’ll know we have a love affair with essential oils but we had a few good reasons not to use them in Woohoo Mellow.
Essential oils, even though they’re natural, can irritate sensitive skinned folk. And Woohoo wanted Mellow to be the deodorant that EVERYONE can use.
Ladies lucky enough to be pregnant often like to stay away from essential oils to avoid any possible side effects on their pregnancy (even though the likelihood is very small – better safe than sorry!).
Breastfeeding mamas usually like to avoid essential oils to make sure bub doesn’t get upset by weird smells.
Some people just don’t like smelly things. And that’s A-O-K 🙂
Mellow has a very gentle coconut oil aroma that disappears as soon as it’s rubbed into your skin. No lingering scent. You just smell like you. In a good way!
Have you gotten up close and personal with Mellow yet? We can’t wait to hear which Woohoo is a winner in your eyes (or armpits)!

With clean, dry hands use the tip of your index finger collect to a pea sized amount of deodorant and warm it in your fingertips. Rub it under your arm until it disappears (just like you would a moisturiser). P.S. If you’re used to using an antiperspirant, please remember that this isn’t one! This deodorant works by neutralising odour and keeps you dryer by absorbing moisture, but it DOESN’T block your pores with aluminium to stop you from sweating. It can take a couple of weeks for your body to adjust to this type of deodorant but it’s worth the wait!
